CrateSweep release notes

Every CrateSweep release, including feature updates, improvements, and fixes.

v1.2.3

🔧 Improvements

  • Added support for all Intel Macs on macOS 14+.
  • Safer library cleanups — CrateSweep now prevents two cleanups from running on the same library at the same time, and re-checks your Serato database right before removing anything.
  • If a cleanup can’t finish, the results now show exactly which tracks were removed and which weren’t, instead of an estimate.
  • If macOS permissions block CrateSweep from reading a drive or folder, it now tells you which locations it couldn’t access instead of showing an empty library list.
  • Clearer startup errors — if CrateSweep’s scanning engine can’t start, you’ll now see a specific message explaining what went wrong instead of an endless loading screen.
  • The offline license notice now appears as a banner inside the window and can be dismissed.

🐛 Fixes

  • Fixed offline license checks failing for some licenses, which could lock you out while away from the internet.
  • Fixed rare cases where CrateSweep appeared unlicensed after startup because the license couldn’t be read from the Mac’s keychain in time.

v1.2.2

🔧 Improvements

  • General stability and reliability improvements.

v1.2.1

🔧 Improvements

  • Improved crash reporting so we can diagnose and fix issues faster. No changes to app features or behavior.

v1.2.0

✨ New features

  • Crate & history preservation — removing duplicates now updates your crates and Serato play history to point at the copy you kept, across every cleanup flow, so nothing goes missing from your crates or session history after a sweep.

🐛 Fixes

  • Some users saw an incorrect “deletion error” — CrateSweep now retries and verifies the result before reporting back.
  • Deleting very large batches of duplicates (thousands of tracks at once) no longer fails before it starts.
  • Deactivating your license — from the app or your purchase dashboard — no longer locks the key. You can now reactivate it on the same or another Mac.

v1.1.1

🐛 Fixes

  • Fixed license activation not sticking — after entering a valid key, the app could immediately drop back to the unlicensed state instead of saving your license. Activations now persist correctly, including across relaunches.
  • Improved crash report quality so any remaining issues can be diagnosed and fixed faster.

v1.1.0

✨ New features

  • Free tier — try CrateSweep without a license. Scan your Serato library and review every duplicate for free; unlock deletion any time with a license key.
  • File path column — results tables now show where each track lives on disk, so you can tell versions apart before deciding what to keep.
  • Smart Select explainer — a built-in explainer shows exactly how Smart Select picks which duplicates to keep, so nothing feels like a black box.

🔧 Improvements

  • Added a select-all checkbox to the results header that reflects mixed selections, making bulk selection much faster.
  • Tightened the results table layout so more of your library fits on screen while you review.
  • License activation now lives in Settings, with clearer status badges along the way.
  • License errors are much clearer — invalid keys, revoked licenses, and offline checks each get a plain-language explanation of what to do next.
  • Improved crash reporting so problems in the field get found and fixed faster.

🐛 Fixes

  • Fixed expired or unknown license keys sometimes being handled incorrectly after a revocation check.
  • Fixed activation windows reopening Settings unexpectedly and the free-tier banner disappearing during activation.
  • Fixed the header checkbox not updating and misaligning with row checkboxes in results tables.
